The 45-TPH Vickers Hoskin boiler has experienced deterioration in the condition of its refractory brickwork and casing due to age and prolonged exposure to high temperatures. This damage has resulted in heat loss, reduced combustion efficiency, and increased fuel consumption, necessitating repairs to restore the boiler to optimal performance.

Replace approximately 50% of the refractory brickwork and boiler casing within a very limited shutdown period of seven days. The work must be completed in accordance with quality and safety standards, without disrupting the plant’s established startup schedule.

Our team prefabricated the casing panels in the workshop before the shutdown began to speed up the installation process on-site. During the project, skilled bricklayers, fitters, and welders worked in a coordinated, rotating schedule so that the refractory and casing work could proceed in parallel and efficiently.

All work related to the replacement of the refractory brickwork and casing was successfully completed within seven days, in accordance with the shutdown schedule. The boiler resumed operations on schedule, featuring improved heat retention, increased thermal efficiency, and reduced fuel consumption, all of which contribute to more economical plant operations.
